 Subject: A warmly welcome message to His Holiness Pope Francis and the accompanying church leaders.

The South Sudan Islamic Council stands together with millions of believers, followers of different Church denominations, peace lovers in the republic of south Sudan and beyond, with a strong believe that the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis, together with the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland is a good omen and an auspicious tour that urges and demonstrates to us all Muslim and Christian communities alike the necessity of religious tolerance and acceptance of each other as sons of the only one true God.

On behalf of the Muslim community in South Sudan I warmly welcome this historic papal visit, which crowns the efforts of His Holiness the Pope and his devoted endeavors in supporting a comprehensive peace and reconciliation in South Sudan,

 The Islamic Council also does not overlook the endeavors of His Holiness the Pope ‘s efforts of building bridges of communication and cooperation with the Islamic nation in the world.

 This is recognizable by the signing of the Human Fraternity Document with His Eminence, the Grand Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayib, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sheikh, under the auspices of the United Arab Emirates, which took place in Abu Dhabi on 4th February. 2019, adopted by the United Nations and translated into several languages ​​in the world.

 Which mainly contributed to strengthening cooperation, friendship and religious coexistence between Christians and Muslims in the world and to reject religious intolerance, xenophobia and sectarianism.

Once again, we the people of South Sudan are very grateful for this gesture tour, which completes the sincere national efforts made to achieve peace and implementing the ARCSS in the Country. These efforts are led by His Excellency the President of the Republic, General Salva Kiir Mayardit, a man of wisdom, peace, love and respect, as His Excellency stands at the same distance between All components of his people of different religious and social sects.

 The visit of these church leaders will be written in letters of the light of hope as a milestone in the future of upcoming generations and a good beginning to mobilize support from peace partners around the world to make South Sudan a role model country that has passed through the longest bloody war in Africa, but which has crossed and turned the page of conflict and heralds a new era of peace, stability and prosperity for the people of South Sudan, thus deserves to be blessed with peace and harmony.

on behalf of the Muslim community in South Sudan, the Islamic Council, reaffirms its solid stance no doubt for the full support of the steps being achieved on implementing the comprehensive peace agreement, as a dream come true to the generations over generations to come.
